about nadya
Nadya Encarnación-Castillo, artistically known as Nadya Encarnación, is a Dominican-American actress, singer, and voice artist whose performances are marked by depth, tenderness, and quiet power. With roots in New York City and training from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), she has built a career that bridges screen, stage, and sound with soulful grace.
Her film work includes a lead role in the Oscar-qualifying short “Ro & the Stardust” (now streaming on Netflix), as well as appearances on Investigation Discovery’s “Primal Instinct” and various independent projects. She has voiced national campaigns, including a Spanish-language spot for Remitly, and brings bilingual warmth and authenticity to her commercial and narration work.
Equally at home in theatrical storytelling, Nadya toured nationally with Core Ensemble’s “Las Magníficas,” a musical homage to Latin American heroines: Celia Cruz, Chavela Vargas & Violeta Parra. Her voice—both spoken and sung—offers a textured, emotional range ideal for roles rooted in intimacy, strength, and spiritual complexity.
As a creative with a background in counseling, youth development and creative writing, Nadya brings a rare emotional intelligence to her work—one that makes her a compelling performer, collaborator, and narrator. Through her poetic brand Mujer con Soul, she weaves story and soul into everything she creates.
Aside from her artistic pursuits, Nadya works as a close ally with the Bride’s March (domestic violence awareness), was a member of the Justice Advisory Committee at the NY Women’s Foundation and completed the New York Community Trust Leadership Fellows Program at the Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College. She is a proud graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), Fairfield University (BA) & Manhattan College (MA).
